Welcome to Tirabad Outdoor Educational Centre
Operated by Tirabad Residential Educational Trust, we're a charity-run organisation providing fun and developmental outdoor education opportunities for children.
Set up in 1971 by three schools – Charters (Ascot), Emmbrook (Wokingham) and Maiden Erlegh (Reading) – Tirabad Outdoor Education Centre is a self-contained residential centre able to accommodate groups up to 48 people. (For more information about our facilities, please see the About Tirabad page.)
We have a 36-bed residential centre, plus a 16-bed self-catering bunkhouse affectionately known as "Ernie's Cottage".
Tirabad Outdoor Educational Centre is located in the village of Tirabad near Llangammarch Wells in the stunning mid-Wales countryside, just north of the Eppynt Moor and Sennybridge on the A40. The centre backs on to the Crychan forest and this, plus the nearby Brecon Beacons National Park, offers superb opportunities for exploration and exciting adventures in caves, on rivers and up mountains.
The centre grounds are well-equipped for orienteering, problem solving, archery and bushcraft, while the local area is also ideal for field studies in Geography and Life Sciences.

We hold an Adventure Activity Licensing Authority (AALA) Licence for:
Kayaking, Canoeing, Paddle Surfing, Climbing, Abseiling, Coasteering, Gorge Scrambling, Caving, Mountaineering, Off-Road Cycling.
You can confirm this at: 02920 755715
